Corey Woods is mayor of Tempe, Arizona, elected in 2020. He was a city council member from 2008 to 2016. Woods is also executive director of community relations at ASU (Arizona State University) Preparatory Academy, where he has worked for eight years. He has held executive or director positions at Greater Phoenix Urban League, Phoenix Union High School District and American Lung Association of the Southwest. As mayor, he vice chairs the U.S. Conference of Mayors Community Development and Housing Committee, co-chairs the National League of Cities’ Housing Supply Accelerator Steering Committee and is a member of Mayors and CEOs for U.S. Housing Investment. Woods has been recognized for his leadership in advocating for and expanding affordable housing and workforce housing opportunities, including being named 2022 Advocate of the Year by the Arizona Housing Coalition.
