Alexandra Lange is a design critic and author. In 2025, she won the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism for a series of essays at Bloomberg CityLab on designing cities for families. Her most recent books are "The Design of Childhood: How the Material World Shapes Independent Kids" and "Meet Me by the Fountain: An Inside History of the Mall." In 2027, she will publish a book on austerity and creativity in the 1970s built environment.
