Vico Sotto was elected Pasig City Mayor in 2019. The reforms he has championed in his first six years as City Mayor have enabled a groundswell of support for good governance among Pasigueños, as seen in his reelection in May 2025 for a third and final term. He was also recognized by the United States government for his efforts toward transparency and accountability in governance with the Anti-Corruption Champion Award. Prior to his role as Mayor, he served as City Councilor, where he championed the passage of ordinances on citizen participation and freedom of information (FOI), with the latter becoming the first local legislation of FOI in Metro Manila. He was also previously a Project Associate for the twin programs of Government Watch and Political Democracy and Reforms.
