Anthony Smith is the executive director of Cities United, a national network focused on eliminating violence in American cities related to African American men and boys. Prior to this, he led the Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods program in the office of the Louisville, Ky., mayor. There, Smith worked with community stakeholders to develop the One Love Louisville Plan to unite neighbors, provide opportunity for youth, and create healthy objectives to help stop violence in the city. Earlier in his career, he was the director of network organizing for Network for Community Change and a career-planner coordinator at Youth Opportunities Unlimited.
