Eric Enriquez is mayor of Las Cruces, New Mexico, elected in November 2023. He previously worked in Las Cruces city administration, including as assistant city manager and director of community services. Enriquez is a longtime firefighter, having served as fire chief, deputy fire chief and fire marshal. He has also been a business owner and manager. A 20-plus-year community volunteer, he has actively participated in the National Fire Chiefs Association, and his board service includes Mountain View Regional Medical Center, the Boys and Girls Club, CASA, Sherri’s House of Hope and the Drug Coalition Committee. Enriquez has attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Leadership, University of Virginia (courses in city government), the Fire Service Executive Development Institute and the National Academy of Fire Services.
