Florian Meyer
Division Head in the Social Affairs Department for the City of Zurich,

Florian Meyer is head of the harm reduction division for illegal substances in the city of Zurich, where he is responsible for drug-consumption facilities and drug-checking services. In this role since 2017, he is an expert in managing open drug scenes and implementing harm reduction measures. Meyer previously worked for the canton of Zurich at a correctional facility, where he began as a social worker and became a team leader and deputy head. Prior to that, he held social work positions at the city of Zurich and canton of Schaffhausen. A Ph.D. candidate at the Institute for Addiction Research Frankfurt on resources and needs of users of drug-consumption facilities, Meyer holds a master’s degree in social work and diploma in forensic sciences.
