Jorrit de Jong is the Emma Bloomberg senior lecturer in public policy and management at Harvard Kennedy School. At Harvard, he also directs the Bloomberg Center for Cities, is faculty co-chair of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, and is academic director of the Innovations in Government program. Prior to this, de Jong co-founded the Kafka Brigade, a social enterprise in Europe helping governments resolve bureaucratic dysfunction. Previously, he directed the Center for Government Studies at Leiden University. De Jong’s research has appeared in Public Administration Review, Public Management Review, and Stanford Social Innovation Review, among other academic journals. His books include The State of Access: Success and Failure of Democracies to Create Equal Opportunities, Agents of Change: Strategy and Tactics for Social Innovation, and Dealing with Dysfunction: Innovative Problem Solving in the Public Sector.
