Previously, Worland covered health and breaking news for the magazine. He is a visiting fellow in journalism at the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute and a founding steering committee member at Uproot Project, which works to diversify environmental journalism. Worland’s recognition includes being named the 2022 climate journalist of the year by Covering Climate Now.
