Justin Worland is a senior correspondent at TIME. Based in Washington, D.C., he has been covering climate change and the intersection of policy, politics, and society since 2015. Previously, Worland covered health and breaking news for the magazine. He is a visiting fellow in journalism at the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute and a founding steering committee member at Uproot Project, which works to diversify environmental journalism. Worland’s recognition includes being named the 2022 climate journalist of the year by Covering Climate Now.
