Executive Director of Report for America

Kim Kleman is the executive director of Report for America, a journalism nonprofit providing jobs for emerging journalists in newsrooms throughout the country. She is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she has taught courses in reporting, investigative skills, magazine writing, and consumer journalism and overseen honors theses for students in the print, digital, broadcast, and audio concentrations. Previously, Kleman was editor in chief of The American Lawyer, responsible for editorial strategy and overseeing its website, magazine, and daily newsletters. She was also editor in chief of Consumer Reports and led its expansion to digital platforms. Earlier, Kleman was a reporter and editor at the St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times) and a reporter in the Polk County bureau of The Tampa Tribune.
