April Ignacio is a co-founding member of Indivisible Tohono, a grassroots, community-based organization that provides civic-engagement opportunities and organizes on Arizona issues primarily impacting the Tohono O’odham Nation. She also works for Tohono O’odham Ki:ki Association, the tribal housing authority. Among several roles in state and local politics, Ignacio is currently a vice chair for the Arizona Democratic Party and was appointed by Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs to serve on the Arizona Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Task Force. She facilitates the online Rez Babes Book Club, which has members all over Native North America, and has been the Tohono O’odham Nation’s traditional women’s games coordinator. She ran for Pima County supervisor but was defeated in the Democratic primary in 2024.
