Director of the Urban Innovation Fellows Initiative at the Urban Tech Hub at Cornell Tech

New York, New York, U.S.A.

Ashwini Chhabra is the founding director of Cornell Tech’s Urban Innovation Fellowship, a program dedicated to a fundamental question: How can city governments innovate where it matters most, in the agencies that deliver services to our residents every single day? In this capacity, Chhabra oversees a team of seven Urban Innovation Fellows who work directly within New York City government agencies to undertake projects that accelerate tech adoption in the public sector. Prior to joining Cornell Tech, he was the chief public policy officer of TIER Mobility. He has also held policy development leadership positions at Uber and Bird and transportation policy positions with Mayor Bloomberg’s administration, including as a senior advisor in the Mayor’s Office.
