Associate Vice Provost for Public Sector Innovation at Johns Hopkins University

Beth Blauer is the associate vice provost for public sector innovation at Johns Hopkins University and an associate professor of practice at its Carey Business School. She is also the data lead for Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center. The executive director and founder of the university’s Center for Government Excellence, in 2021 Blauer launched the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation, focused on advancing the art and science of innovation for the public sector. Prior to Johns Hopkins, she designed and launched Socrata’s GovStat platform for federal, state, and local governments. Earlier in her career, Blauer led Maryland’s StateStat program and, before that, was a juvenile probation officer there.
