Brandon Scott
Mayor of Baltimore,
Maryland, U.S.A.
Brandon M. Scott is committed to building a better Baltimore by improving public safety, prioritizing youth, fostering clean and healthy communities, advancing equitable neighborhood development, and responsibly stewarding city resources to restore trust in government. His firsthand experience growing up and witnessing disinvestment in its communities and youth shaped his administration’s priorities and led to substantial investments in schools, recreation centers, and previously stalled housing projects in underserved neighborhoods. Mayor Scott spearheaded historic reductions in violence through Baltimore’s first-ever Comprehensive Violence Prevention Plan, and under his leadership, the city also saw an 18% decrease in vacant properties. He serves as Co-Chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns and as First Vice President of the African American Mayors Association. He previously chaired the National League of Cities Large Cities Council.
