Cecilia Vaca Jones is the executive director of Breathe Cities, a global initiative delivered by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Clean Air Fund, and C40 Cities. She leads the initiative's efforts to accelerate clean-air solutions that protect health and help communities thrive. Vaca Jones has over 25 years of experience in social development and people-centered urban policy. She served as Ecuador’s coordinating minister of social development, leading integrated policies to strengthen well-being for children, women, Indigenous communities, and people with disabilities. Previously, she was the executive director at the Bernard van Leer Foundation, advancing early childhood development through urban planning and behavior-change approaches. She also served as a senior advisor to the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority supporting the emirate’s Family Friendly initiative.
