Senior Vice President for Environmental, Climate, and Urban Health at Vital Strategies
Daniel Kass is senior vice president of environmental, climate, and urban health at Vital Strategies. There, he works with health ministries and civil society organizations to understand and address air pollution, improve environmental health hazard and exposure surveillance, and promote public engagement in policy making. Previously, Kass was the New York City deputy commissioner for environmental health. Prior to that, as assistant commissioner, he launched NYC’s bureau of surveillance and policy. Earlier in his career, Kass founded and directed the Hunter College Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. He formerly was a NIEHS national toxicology program scientific counselors board member and chair of the CDC board of scientific counselors for the National Center for Environmental Health/ATSDR.
