Daphne Lundi is a public scholar at The City College of New York’s Moynihan Center, where her teaching and writing explore the intersection of sci-fi and city planning. Lundi is also the co-creator of romantic urbanism, a research and design project exploring the ways cities can help foster love and social cohesion. Previously, she was a deputy director with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, developing policy initiatives on green infrastructure and extreme heat. Lundi has also taught urban planning and design courses at Hunter College, CCNY and Columbia. She is a founding board member of BlackSpace, a collective of Black urbanists working to address inequality in the built environment, and an advisory board member of the Octavia Project, a summer program empowering teen girls and nonbinary youth through sci-fi.
