Eleni Myrivili is chief heat officer for the City of Athens, Greece, and senior advisor for resilience and sustainability at Arsht Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center, working to prepare cities for extreme heat by developing and adopting climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. In June, she was named the first-ever global chief heat officer, promoting a heat-resilience agenda at UN-Habitat, the United Nations' program for human settlements and sustainable urban development. An assistant professor at the University of the Aegean, Myrivili was previously deputy mayor of Athens, where she designed the Athens Resilience Strategy for 2030 in collaboration with hundreds of residents.
