Femke Halsema is the mayor of Amsterdam. Previously, she was a television creator and made the documentary series "Sex and Sin," about women in the Islamic world, and developed and produced "The Parliamentary Party" TV series about politics in The Hague. Prior to this, Halsema was a journalist with De Volkskrant and De Correspondent. Her writings include the essay Power and Imagination and her political memoir, Pluche. Earlier in her career, Halsema held positions in public administration for over a decade, including chair of the Dutch House of Representatives and leader of the GroenLinks political party.
