Fernanda Canales is an architect based in Mexico City. She works to design better relationships between buildings, people and the environment. Canales’ recent work has focused on social housing projects and civic buildings in Mexico. She has also been a visiting faculty member at Polytechnic University of Milan, Harvard University, Princeton School of Architecture. Canales was the Louis I. Kahn Visiting Assistant Professor of Architectural Design at Yale School of Architecture in 2019. She has been a guest speaker at MIT, Architectural Association in London, Columbia University, and Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape. Canales is the author of “My House Your City,” “Shared Structures, Private Space” and “Architecture in Mexico 1900-2010.” Her recognition includes being named to the 2021 New York Times list of 10 women changing the landscape of leadership.
