Chief Heat Officer of Miami-Dade County
Jane Gilbert is the chief heat officer for Miami-Dade County. She leads heat resilience strategy development to address the increasing risks to human health, lives, and livelihoods associated with extreme heat. Previously, Gilbert was a consultant and managed The Miami Foundation’s civic leadership agenda on sea level rise. Prior to this, she was the City of Miami’s chief resilience officer, responsible for climate and urban resilience strategy development and implementation. Earlier in her career, Gilbert headed Wells Fargo’s philanthropy and community affairs in South Florida and was the founding executive director for the nonprofits Dream in Green and Arts for Learning/Miami.
