Margarita Leybman-Weiss is the Innovation team director of Akko, Israel, for the Hazira joint initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Israel Ministry of Interior, and Peres Center for Peace and Innovation. She works to integrate and implement data-based decision-making and a resident-centered approach in municipal projects and programs. Previously, Leybman-Weiss was a sustainability coordinator and developer, and then a project manager, at Galilee Beit Hakerem municipal association. There, she established waste management services and transformed damaged areas into green space with local communities, government, and municipal partnerships and philanthropy. Leybman-Weiss holds a bachelor’s in economics and a master’s in public administration and policy from Haifa University.
