Marta Cotrim is the head of data and smart cities division for the City of Cascais, Portugal, fostering innovation in public services as well as monitoring initiatives, collecting data, and analyzing and providing feedback for a data-centered approach to decision-making. A sociologist, Cotrim has over 20 years of experience in social innovation and working with disadvantaged populations in Cascais. Previously, she promoted networking, co-creation, and simplification of procedures at LabX, a center for innovation in the public sector and was a contact person at Portugal’s Open Government Partnership.
