Michael Rodrigues is the world's first 24-Hour economy commissioner. In addition to his statutory functions, he is responsible for delivering the New South Wales (NSW) 24-hour economy strategy. As commissioner, Michael has overseen the implementation of several pivotal initiatives to unlock the potential of NSW’s 24-hour economy, including nighttime venue vibrancy reforms, the Uptown District Acceleration Program, the first-of-its-kind Data After Dark economy measurement platform, and the Night Worker Action Plan. Rodrigues has also championed the Purple Flag Program, an internationally recognized accreditation scheme that aims to promote safe, vibrant, and well-managed nightlife districts across NSW.
