Mike Firestone serves as Boston’s corporation counsel, leading the law department in providing services to the mayor, city council, and city departments, and representing and defending the city's interests. Previously, he served as the city’s chief of policy and strategic planning, advancing Mayor Wu’s vision of a future-focused, growing city that is affordable, racially equitable, and climate-resilient. Mike previously served as an assistant attorney general and chief of staff to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey. In 2021, Mike founded and directed the Coalition to Protect Workers’ Rights and served as interim managing director of the Labor and Worklife Program at Harvard Law School. Previously, Mike led voter protection efforts for the Biden-Harris campaign in Michigan. In 2014, Mike managed Attorney General Healey's campaign. He previously served as the field director for Senator Elizabeth Warren in 2012 and Senator Jeanne Shaheen in 2008.
