Rachel Perić is executive director of Welcoming America, an Atlanta-based nonprofit working to build communities where everyone, including immigrants, thrives and belongs. Previously, she was executive director of the Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy. Prior to that, Perić was a regional director with United Way of the National Capital Area and, before that, managed international development programs at Management Systems International. Her commentary on community building and pluralism has appeared in USA Today and on CNN, among other news outlets. Perić is an Art and Remembrance board member, a nonprofit devoted to using art and personal narrative to recognize individual courage and resilience.
