Ron Nirenberg is the mayor of San Antonio, Texas, elected to his fourth term in 2023. In this role, his priorities include workforce development, affordable housing, and the environment. Nirenberg spearheaded a climate action and adaptation plan for San Antonio and is a member of the Climate Mayors steering committee. Previously, he served two terms on San Antonio City Council. Prior to this, Nirenberg founded two small businesses. Earlier in his career, Nirenberg was the general manager of KRTU-FM San Antonio and a program director for Annenberg Public Policy Center. His recognition includes being named to the 2020 Grist 50 list of emerging climate change leaders and receiving the 2018 Small Business Advocate award from the United States Conference of Mayors.
