Sadiq Khan
Mayor of London,
U.K.
Sir Sadiq Khan is the first Mayor of London to secure three consecutive terms in office. During his mayoralty, he has positioned London as a global leader on climate action, inclusive economic growth, and social justice. His achievements include introducing the world’s largest clean air zone, providing free school meals for all children in London’s state primary schools, and increasing council housebuilding to its highest level since the 1970s. Under his leadership, London’s per capita homicide rate has fallen to its lowest level in recorded history. Before becoming Mayor, Khan served as MP for Tooting and held ministerial roles, becoming the first Muslim to attend Cabinet. Raised in south London by working‑class Pakistani immigrant parents, his background continues to shape a leadership approach rooted in fairness, opportunity, and social progress. He worked as a human rights lawyer and ran a successful legal practice before entering public life.
