Hon. Samuel Pyne is the Mayor of Kumasi, Ghana. He is a professional teacher who has taught at almost all levels of education in the country, and a local governance practitioner, administrator, and sustainable development advocate. Previously, he was an Assembly Member on three different occasions, serving the Aowin Municipal, Afigya Sekyere District, and Afigya Kwabre District. Pyne also served as the Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region for three terms over 12 years. He has served on boards including the Kumasi Abattoir Company Ltd, Kumasi City Market Ltd, and the Governing Council of St. Louis College of Education, Kumasi.

Pyne holds a bachelor’s in English education from the University of Education, Winneba, a Master of Arts Degree in Governance and Sustainable Development from the University of Cape Coast, and a Master of Arts in Local Government Administration and Organization from the Local Government Institute, Accra.
