Shani Leiman is the innovation team director of Bat Yam municipality, Tel Aviv, Israel, for the Hazira joint initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Israel Ministry of Interior, and Peres Center for Peace and Innovation. She establishes innovation teams in cities and regional clusters across Israel to integrate data-based decision making and resident-centered approaches into city work. Prior to this, Leiman was global projects manager at JDC humanitarian organization, where she led implementation efforts of the Kaplan Leadership Initiative, a leadership training program for Jewish professionals in the former Soviet Union, Europe, and Latin America.
