Tom Copley

Tom Copley is London’s deputy mayor of housing and residential development, overseeing the mayor's affordable homes programs and investments in housing delivery. He also oversees the mayor's work to improve the private rented sector, support the delivery of community-led housing, commission services to support rough sleepers and survivors of domestic abuse, and on building safety. He sits on the board of Barking Riverside Ltd, which is transforming the site of a former power station into a vibrant community. Before becoming a deputy mayor, he was an elected member of the London Assembly, serving as a London-wide list member for eight years, including as chair of the Assembly’s housing committee. He also served as a councillor on Lewisham Council. He is a trustee of New Diorama Theatre and a former trustee of Humanists UK.
