Rossana Elena Chahla is the mayor of San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina. She is also a physician, specializing in reproductive medicine, obstetrics and gynecology. A professor of gynecology at National University of Tucumán, Chahla has authored many research papers on health issues. Previously, she was national deputy for the province of Tucumán. Prior to that, Chahla was minister of public health and director of Our Lady of Mercedes Institute of Maternity and Gynecology in Tucumán. A former president of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Society of Tucumán, she is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a European Society of Human Reproduction member.
