Ryan Pierce is government innovation lead at Bloomberg Philanthropies. He heads idea replication work to further successful government innovations in cities around the world by addressing their most pressing challenges. Prior to this, Pierce managed strategic initiatives for the City of Hartford, CT, where he developed programs and initiatives to better serve its residents and administered the city’s portfolio of grants. As a city leader, he has participated in Bloomberg Philanthropies initiatives including the Mayors Challenge, Providence Talks replication, Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, What Works Cities Certification, and Love Your Block. Previously, Pierce spent a decade advocating to federal, state and local leaders on behalf of universities, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
